On the right side of the goddess is Markandeya Rishi and Lion (Original) महाराष्ट्राची कुलस्वामिनी तुळजाभवानी मातेचे तुळजापूर येथे वास्तव्य आहे. श्रीक्षेत्र तुळजापूर हे मराठवाड्यातील उस्मानाबाद जिल्ह्यात डोंगर पठारावर वसलेले गाव आहे. समुद्रसपाटीपासून २७० फुट उंचावर असलेले हे तालुक्याचे ठिकाण उस्मानाबादपासून १८ किलोमीटर तर सोलापूरपासून ४४ किलोमीटरवर आहे. पूर्वी हा भाग डोंगराळ पण घनदाट अरण्याने व्यापलेला होता. या भागात चिंचेची खूप झाडे असल्याने त्यास चिंचपूर असेही म्हटले जायचे. जगदंबा मातेची मूर्ती गडकी शिळेची असून ती अष्टभुजा आहे. आश्विन व चैत्र पूर्णिमेला येथे मोठी यात्रा भरते. मंदिरात प्रवेश करण्यासाठी दोन मोठी प्रवेशद्वारे आहेत. एका प्रवेशद्वारास राजे शहाजी महाद्वार तर दुसर्u200dया दरवाजाला राजामाता जिजाऊ महाद्वार असे नाव देण्यात आले आहे. देवीच्या मंदिरात जाण्यासाठी दगडी पायर्u200dया आहेत. पायर्u200dया उतरून खाली गेल्यानंतर डाव्या बाजूस पोस्ट ऑफिस आणि उजव्या बाजूला श्री तुळजाभवानी मंदिर संस्थानचे मुख्य कार्यालय आहे. या ठिकाणी श्री संत ज्ञानेश्वर धार्मिक ग्रंथालय व श्री संत तुकाराम धार्मिक ग्रंथालय असून, तिसरा कक्ष समर्थ विशेष अतिथी कक्ष आहे. पायर्u200dया उतरून खाली गेल्यानंतर गोमुख तीर्थ येथे दर्शनाला जाण्यापूर्वी भाविक येथे स्नान करतात तसेच हातपायही धुतात. समोरच कल्लोळ तीर्थ आहे. देवीच्या स्नानासाठी तीन तीर्थ एकत्र आली असे कल्लोळ तीर्थाच्या बाबतीत सागितले जाते. मंदिराच्या मुख्य द्वारापाशी उजव्या सोंडेचा सिद्धीविनायक आहे. येथेच आदीशक्ती आदिमाया व अन्नपूर्णा देवीचे मंदिरही लक्षवेधून घेतात. मंदिराच्या मुख्य गाभार्u200dयाचा दरवाजा चांदीच्या पत्र्याने मढविला असून, त्यावर सुरेख असे नक्षीकाम करण्यात आले आहे. येथेच श्री तुळजाभवानीची प्रसन्न आणि तेजस्वी काळा पाषाणाची मूर्ती दिसून येते. तीन फुट उंचीची ही मूर्ती स्वयंभू आहे. अष्टभुजा महिषासूरमर्दिनी सिंहासनावर उभी असून मस्तकाच्या मुकुटातून केसांच्या बटा बाहेर आलेल्या आहेत. आईच्या आठ हातात त्रिशूळ, बिचवा, बाण, चक्र, शंख, धनुष्य, पानपात्र आणि राक्षसाची शेंडी आहे. पाठीवर बाणाचा भाता असून देवीच्या मुख्याच्या उजव्या व डाव्या अंगाला चंद्र व सुर्य आहेत. तुळजाभवानीचा उजवा पाय महिषासून राक्षसावर तर डावा पाय जमिनीवर दिसून येतो. दोन पायांच्यामध्ये महिषासूर राक्षसाचे मस्तक आहे. देवीच्या उजव्या बाजूला मार्केंडेय ऋषी व सिंह आहे
